Jasco’s GE Branded Products Ranked Top Market Share Brand Leader in Seven Categories for 2014


According to 2014 sales data from The NPD Group, a market information and business solutions provider, Jasco’s GE branded products were ranked as the number one market share leader in either dollars or units or both in seven consumer electronic categories. This is the second year in a row for Jasco to lead in the surge protection business in revenue. In addition, GE branded surge protectors have grown in dollars sold for two consecutive years. Jasco’s GE branded products have grown in market share in 2014, ending another successful year for these product categories. According to The NPD Group, GE branded products rank #1 in dollars and units in the following categories from January 2014 to December 2014*:

• HDMI Cables
• Surge Protection
• Component Video
• Digital Optical Audio Cables
• Composite Cables
• RF Coaxial Cables
• Speaker Cables (#1 in dollars only)

GE branded remotes were positioned in the top three brands for units and dollars. The NPD data also showed solid growth since 2012 in the cable business for GE branded digital optical cables. GE branded products have maintained the top position for HDMI AV cables and continue to grow at a fast pace with a growth average of 15 percent over the past three years. GE branded products hold 33 percent dollar share and 46 percent unit share for component cables as well as 33 million dollar share of the total 55 million dollar category for RF coax cables in 2014.
