California and several other U.S. states give you the right to direct businesses not to sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes. This page explains what that means at Jasco Products Company LLC and how to exercise the right. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes our practices in full.

What we share, and with whom

Like most retailers, we use analytics and advertising technologies on our websites. When you visit, these technologies may transmit online identifiers (such as cookie identifiers, device identifiers and IP address), information about the pages and products you view, terms you enter into our site search, items you add to your cart, and information about purchases you complete. They transmit this information to the advertising, analytics and affiliate marketing partners identified in Section 7 of our Privacy Policy, including Google LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc. and ShareASale (Awin Inc.).

We have also enabled Google Signals, which allows Google to associate activity on our sites with signed in Google accounts across devices, and we participate in Shopify Audiences, which uses purchase and browsing signals from participating Shopify merchants to build advertising audiences.

Under California law, some of these activities are a sale or a share of personal information, even though we receive no money for it. The categories involved are identifiers, internet and network activity, commercial information, and inferences drawn from them. We do not sell or share the personal information of any consumer we know to be under 16 years old, and we do not sell or share sensitive personal information for advertising purposes.

How to opt out

You can opt out in any of the following ways. Each works on its own, and you do not need to use more than one.

1. Submit a request to us

Complete the Do Not Sell or Share request form on this page, or email privacy@byjasco.com with the subject line Do Not Sell or Share. Please include the email address associated with any Jasco account or order, so that we can apply your request to your account as well as to your browser.

2. Turn off Marketing cookies

Open the cookie preferences link in the footer of any page on our site and decline the Marketing category. This stops the advertising technologies described above from operating in the browser you are using.

3. Use the Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC), an automatic signal that some browsers and browser extensions send on your behalf. When we receive a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information from that browser. You can learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.

4. Industry opt out tools

You may also manage interest based advertising across many participating companies through the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org and the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, and through the ad tracking controls on your mobile device.

What happens after you opt out

We will process your request and stop selling or sharing your personal information for cross context behavioral advertising. We will also instruct our advertising partners to stop, although we cannot control how a partner handles information it received before your request.

Cookie based and GPC based opt outs are tied to the specific browser and device you use. If you clear your cookies, use a different browser, or use a different device, you will need to opt out again in that browser or on that device. An opt out you submit by form or email is applied to the account associated with the email address you provide, and is not limited to one browser.

You will still see advertising from Jasco and from others. It will simply be less tailored to you. Opting out does not stop us from using your information to operate our websites, process and ship your orders, provide customer service, honor warranties, prevent fraud, or send you communications you have asked to receive.

Using an authorized agent

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide written permission signed by you, and we may contact you directly to confirm that you gave the agent permission and to verify your identity. If the agent holds a valid power of attorney under California Probate Code sections 4000 through 4465, we will not require separate written permission.

Verification and timing

We do not require you to create an account to submit a request. For an opt out of sale or sharing, we will act on your request without asking you to verify your identity, unless we have a good faith, reasonable and documented belief that the request is fraudulent. We will acknowledge your request within ten business days and complete it within fifteen business days for an opt out of sale or sharing. Requests to know, access, correct or delete are answered within forty-five calendar days, which we may extend once by a further forty-five days where reasonably necessary, with notice to you.

No discrimination

We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, provide a different level or quality of service, or suggest that we will do any of these things because you exercised a privacy right. If we offer a program that provides a discount or other benefit in exchange for personal information, such as a newsletter signup offer, we will describe its terms at the point of enrollment and you may withdraw at any time.

Your other privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to access a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to appeal a decision we make on your request. Section 10 and Section 11 of our Privacy Policy describe these rights. You can exercise any of them by emailing privacy@byjasco.com or by writing to the address below.

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Delaware, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may use this same page to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal information.

Appeals

If we deny your request, our response will explain why. You may appeal by emailing privacy@byjasco.com with the word Appeal in the subject line, or by writing to the address below. We will respond to an appeal within forty-five days. If we deny your appeal, we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general to submit a complaint.
